mite-mcp-server
Connects the time tracking tool mite to Claude.
What it does
mite-mcp-server connects the time tracking tool mite to Claude Desktop and other AI programs that support the Model Context Protocol (MCP). You ask in plain language, for example: "How many hours and how much revenue did we have per project and month since July?"
mite computes the reports on its own server: hours and revenue per project and month, freely grouped reports, budget usage per project and the billable share. In addition there are single time entries, the tracker and the master data (customers, projects, services).
For Symfony developers who build mite into their own applications, there is the MiteBundle.
Setup in Claude Desktop
You need no programming skills. In mite, enable API access in your user settings and copy your API key.
Download the extension (.mcpb) and double-click the file. Enter your mite account and the API key in the settings and enable the extension.
For other AI programs, npx -y mite-mcp-server starts the server; account and key then come from the environment variables MITE_ACCOUNT and MITE_API_KEY.
Security and limits
The server starts read-only. Writing time entries and managing master data are separate switches in the extension settings. Deleting only works in two steps with a confirmation token.
A changed setting only takes effect once you switch the extension off and on again. The API key stays in Claude Desktop and never appears in output.
Whatever a tool returns goes to the provider of your AI assistant, which is Anthropic for Claude Desktop. Keep that in mind before you ask questions about your hours and revenue.
The project is unofficial and has no connection to mite GmbH.
